How to correctly update Griffid

If you are updating from version 2.0-2.9 to 2.10 or higher, please read this topic first: http://support.griffid.com/faq/index.php?topic=202.0

To make sure the update process is done properly, please follow this guideline. Before proceding, take note of the note made below.

Before updating, make sure you have a recent backup of your SQL database and a configuration file export.

1. First stop the Griffid Server service and exit the Griffid Dashboard

2. Use the richt mouse button on the Griffid system tray icon and click exit

3. Uninstall Griffid trough the control panel

DO not manually delete the Griffid folder in C:\Program files!!!!

4. Check the Griffid folder in C:\Program files DO NOT DELETE: 'license.xml'!!! Unless, you have a license file of version 2.12 or lower

5. Now you can perform a new installation, after installation your server will reboot.

6. When the installation is complete, open the Griffid Dashboard from the Start>All programs>Griffid menu, double click the Icon in the system tray. The Dashboard window appears. Click the License button and choose 'Update license'.
If you own a license from version 2.12 or lower, you should contact Griffid Support, to obtain a new license ID.

Do not start the service yet!

7. Click the 'Database' button.

8. A new window , will open. Click the Step 2 tab

Choose to use the current database.

Griffid is now updated using your previous database

11. Click the 'Start' button to start the service
